In an exciting collaboration, Balagi joined forces with Atmi Cikarang to participate in an Urban Green Connect exhibition held at Chillax Sudirman from September 25-28, 2024. This partnership highlighted Balagi and Atmi Cikarang shared commitment to innovation, sustainability, and craftsmanship.
The star of the exhibition was the DT-113 and Kimmy Chair. Kimmy Chair is a striking piece of furniture designed by Cynthia Karenina Subrata, one of Balagi’s talented designers.

The Kimmy Chair and DT-113 Table is a perfect example of how creativity and environmental consciousness can merge to create functional, stylish, and eco-friendly products. This collaboration showcased not only design excellence but also a meaningful effort to address sustainability in product manufacturing.
Kimmy chair and DT-113 Table’s minimalist yet elegant structure was a result of joint efforts: Balagi took charge of producing the chair and table’s frame, ensuring its sturdy yet sleek build, while Atmi Cikarang focused on the creation of the seat of the chair and the layer of table, utilizing a unique and environmentally responsible approach. The seat of Kimmy Chair and the top layer of the table was crafted from recycled plastic and bottle caps, giving new life to materials that would otherwise contribute to environmental waste.
The use of recycled plastic and bottle caps in the seat’s construction reflects a growing trend in the furniture industry towards sustainable design. By repurposing plastic waste, Atmi Cikarang demonstrated its commitment to reducing environmental impact while still delivering high-quality craftsmanship. This material choice not only reduces the demand for virgin plastics but also supports a circular economy, where waste materials are transformed into valuable resources.
Balagi’s role in this collaboration was equally essential. Their expertise in crafting high-quality frames ensured that the Kimmy Chair and DT-113 Table was not only visually appealing but also durable and functional. The blend of Balagi’s craftsmanship and Atmi’s innovative use of recycled materials resulted in a chair that embodies both modern design aesthetics and sustainable practices.
The collaboration between Balagi and Atmi Cikarang represents a forward-thinking approach to furniture design, where sustainability and artistry intersect. By participating in the Chillax Sudirman exhibition, both companies had the opportunity to showcase their contributions to a greener future while promoting the importance of collaboration in the creative industry.
Visitors to the exhibition were captivated by the unique concept behind the Kimmy Chair and the story it tells—of craftsmanship, sustainability, and the power of collaboration. As the furniture industry continues to evolve, partnerships like Balagi x Atmi Cikarang serve as a reminder that innovative design can also be responsible and environmentally friendly.
This exhibition marked an important milestone in Balagi and Atmi’s ongoing efforts to promote sustainable design solutions, setting a new standard for future collaborations and inspiring others in the industry to consider the environmental impact of their creations.
